Marbella Club Magazine
Editorial brand design, magazine design, commissioning, art direction, independent publishing
Gifted to guests in rooms, Marbella Club magazine is a beautifully printed coffee table magazine. It contains editorial stories showcasing the hotel’s wellness programmes, kids clubs and culinary experiences, as well as local culture and the history of this iconic hotel. It is designed to be enjoyed by the pool and then, with ideas for year-round experiences, taken home to inspire readers to plan their next visit.
The brief was to create a magazine to articulate the soul of the hotel to new guests, as well as build a sense of community and belonging amongst established guests. We developed a tone of voice and aesthetic to convey the club’s signature philosophy of ‘barefoot luxury’ and ‘formal informality’. The stories we curated came together to express the club’s relaxed glamour, revitalising wellness programmes and unique heritage, as well as an authentic taste of Andalucian culture.
With my long-term collaborator Jo Tinsley at the editorial helm, I art-directed the project; creating a visual language and design approach, commissioning photography and illustration, and seeing the project through to print.
